We creatively unbox, stage, and style your existing seasonal decorations—including treasured ornaments, family heirlooms, and personal decor—into beautifully curated displays, from flawless trees to stunning mantels.
Please Note: While tree selection and physical delivery are left to you and your local lot, our styling expertise begins the moment your holiday tree is securely set up in its base.

Standard Rate
$70 per hour, per assistant
4-hour minimum booking per session, per assistant
Travel & Errand Pricing
Standard Commute: Free travel within a 15-mile radius (30-mile roundtrip). Distances exceeding this boundary are billed at $0.76 per mile per assistant.
On-the-Job Errands: Driving done during an active session (such as product shopping or donation drop-offs) is billed at our standard hourly rate.
Errand Mileage: All miles accumulated while executing active, on-the-job errands are billed at $0.76 per mile.

Daily Minimum
4-hour minimum booking per session, per assistant
Short-Duration Tasks: Tasks under 4 hours (including shopping/errands) are billed at the standard 4-hour minimum per assistant.
Daily Travel & Errand Fees
No fee for locations within a 15-mile radius (one-way). Any travel distance exceeding a 30-mile roundtrip is billed at $0.76/mile per assistant.
On-the-Job Errands: Active session driving is billed at our standard hourly assistant rate.
Errand Mileage: All miles accumulated during active on-the-job errands are billed at $0.76/mile.
Direct Billing & Expense Management
Payment & Procurement Tracking: To ensure seamless logistics, all household purchases, errands, third-party vendor fees, and activity bookings made on your behalf will be managed using one of the following two pre-approved options:
Option A (Card on File): Clients provide a primary credit card to be securely kept on file. This card will be authorized and charged directly for all real-time purchases, material sourcing, vendor deposits, and specialized errand costs.
Option B (Prepaid Expense Deposit): Client funds a designated upfront prepaid expense deposit before project work or shopping begins. Sort Theory will draw down from this prepaid fund to cover physical organizing supplies, courier surcharges, or vendor fees, providing an itemized receipt log on your final billing invoice. Any unused funds will be fully refunded upon project completion.
Payment Terms
On-demand billing invoices are issued at the end of each day of service and are due immediately upon receipt, unless another agreement is specified.
Cancellation Policy
We require a minimum of 72 hours written notice via email for all cancellations.
Late Cancellation & Rescheduling: Cancellations or schedule changes made with less than 72 hours’ notice will incur a penalty fee equal to 50% of the total project estimate or the 4-hour minimum ($260), whichever is greater.
Note: In the rare event that we must reschedule your session, we promise to provide a minimum of 72 hours' notice, except in cases of sudden illness or unsafe winter driving conditions/canyon closures. If we must reschedule inside this window, you will receive priority booking for our next available date.

Unboxing, Sorting & Prep
Careful Decor Unboxing: Gently unpacking your holiday storage bins, containers, and boxes to sort items by room or theme before decorating.
Light Testing & Organizing: Checking your existing pre-lit features or string lights during the unboxing process to ensure everything works before placement.
Pre-Styling Strategy: Helping you map out exactly which of your personal decorations belong in which rooms to maximize their festive impact.
Christmas Tree Styling
Creative Ornament Placement: Professionally staging your treasured ornaments, family heirlooms, and baubles to ensure beautiful depth, balance, and visual appeal.
Ribbon, Garlands & Picks: Weaving ribbons, tucking festive mesh, or layering decorative picks and garlands into your tree branches.
Tree Base Staging: Artfully styling your tree skirt, decorative collar, or matching accent pieces around the base.
Mantel, Surface & Entryway Staging
Mantel Layouts: Layering your existing holiday greenery, stockings, candles, and decorative figures across your fireplace mantel.
Tabletop & Centerpiece Styling: Artfully arranging seasonal centerpieces, dining table runners, and festive vignettes for holiday hosting.
Banister & Railing Garlands: Securing and styling your personal garlands along staircases, entryways, or interior railings.
Decor Sourcing & Product Shopping
Custom Retail Sourcing: If you want to refresh your look, we will source and shop for new ornaments, high-end ribbons, updated garlands, or fresh containment storage solutions.
Post-Holiday Take-Down & Organization
Meticulous Packing: Gently taking down your decorations after the season ends, wrapping fragile ornaments carefully to protect your investments.
Systematic Bin Storage: Categorizing and organizing everything into labeled, weather-tight storage bins by room or theme so next year's setup is effortless.
Workspace Cleanup: Tidying up the styling area by vacuuming stray pine needles, glitter, or artificial snow before wrapping up the project.
Please Note: While tree selection, physical hauling, and delivery are left entirely to you and your local tree lot, our styling expertise begins the moment your holiday tree is securely set up in its base. We are unable to physically transport, haul, or lift large trees between properties or lots.

If your project requires adding new decorations, ornaments, ribbons, or seasonal storage containment bins, those expenses and the associated travel are handled under the following parameters:
Sourcing & Shopping Time: Time spent designing your holiday look, physically shopping at local retailers, or digitally sourcing your items is billed at our standard hourly rate.
Funding the New Decor: Sort Theory does not finance retail purchases. We can securely charge your credit card on file directly at the register in real-time, or you can fund a 100% upfront estimated decor budget before our shopping trip begins. All retail receipts are provided to you.
Errand Driving & Mileage Fees: The time spent driving to local retailers to source your decorations is active, on-the-clock session work and is billed at our standard hourly rate. All miles accumulated while driving between holiday decor suppliers are billed at our standard errand rate of 76¢ per mile.
